Recommended Use (EN 685):
TX Stairs is classified 34 (Commercial - Very Heavy)

Areas of use:
Public building stairways, e.g.: offices, education, healthcare, shops, etc. (for straight stairs with a minimum 12 mm radius at nose)

Available in:
Roll size is 102 cm x 23 m.
(102 cm is to be cut into two, giving two rolls of 51 cm x 23 m)When installing tiles (61 x 61 cm), use the conductive acrylic adhesive recommended by Tarkett

Installing procedures:

Installation procedures are to be in accordance with the manufacture and the relevant Standard within the country of installation. Carefully follow the instructions for use on the label of the product.

Preparation of substrate:
The substrate must be flat, smooth, dry, sound and moderately absorbent.
If repairing stair damage, use a fast setting mortar. The nose of the stair must have a minimum radius of 12 mm.

Adhesives:
Apply a neoprene primer (if required) as directed by the primer manufacturer and allow to dry prior to applying a solvent free neoprene adhesive to both the reverse of the TX Stairs and the substrate as directed by the manufacturer.

Preparation of covering:
Measure and cut the width of the stair plus 5 cm down the length of the roll and store flat.
Make a reference mark in pencil on the reverse of the vinyl in order to position the ribbing on each of the stairs uniformly.
The storage temperature must be at least 18°C for 24 hours. As far as possible, try to maintain the same temperature in the stairway. Gently heating the material with a hot air gun at the nosing detail will greatly assist with the installation at this location.

Applying adhesives to the staircase:

Using a finely toothed spatula, the adhesive should be applied to each tread and riser of the stair starting from the top.

At the same time coat the reverse of each of the pre-cut pieces of the floorcovering and allow to dry.

Placing the Tapiflex Stairs:
Start at the bottom of the staircase. The fine ribs are spread evenly over the nose of the stair and the broad ribs covering the tread. Identify the position of the ribs by aligning with a reference mark on the substrate. Ensure that the floorcovering is pressed firmly into the adhesive especially over the nosing detail. Roll carefully from the nose of the stair, over the tread and finish with the riser.

Joins:
The joins where each of the tread and risers meet, require to be cold welded with the Tarkett V1008 cold weld (observe the instructions and precautions for use on the packing and enclosed leaflet).

Care:
The PUR Reinforcement treatment carried out during manufacture makes stains easy to remove and limits daily cleaning to nothing more than mopping with a neutral detergent. No emulsion need be applied. Clean the ribbing regularly with a soft brush.
