Vinyl wallcoverings:
SOMVYL and TOPNYL vinyl wallcoverings are wash- and brushable. Simply wiping with a sponge and clean water, if one acts immediately, may eliminate most stains of “household” origin.
It is possible to use a brush equipped with soft bristles on vinyl with a raised patten. It is important to avoid the accumulation of stains, in particular oily deposits from splattering in kitchens, soap and shampoo splashes in bathrooms.
We recommend a general cleaning once a year using a detergent diluted in warm water. The same detergent may be used undiluted in the case of periodic cleaning, followed by rinsing with clean water.
Specific stains:
(Chewing gum, iodine, wax, lipstick): act immediately, pour a little 90° alcohol onto a clean cloth, dab in order to avoid
spreading the stain, renew the operation if necessary. Always rinse well with clean water after removing stains.
Textile wallcoverings:
- Dusting:
Use a powerful vacuum cleaner equipped with a long hose and a nozzle with bristles.
- Stain removal:
The items required for stain removal are the same as for carpet cleaning.
Clean and absorbent cloths:
- A scraper.
- A very clean sponge.
- A good stain-removing shampoo.
- An effective solvent.
The procedure is simple:
- Remove as much of the stain as possible.
- Pour the stain-removing shampoo onto the material.
- Dab (without rubbing) the stain.
- Absorb the soiled foam, continue dabbing until the retrieved foam is clean.
- Dab with a cloth soaked in water.
- Dab with a dry cloth.
- Let dry, vacuum clean.
In the case of oily stains:
- Pour some solvent onto a clean cloth.
- Dab without rubbing.
- Dab with a dry cloth.
- Renovation:
Delegate this procedure to a professional carpet cleaner specializing in the “injection-extraction” method, with the suitable material. Ensure a good adhesive surface of the material and good resistance to humidity of the adhesive.
